Your appointment is with an experienced doctor qualified in dermoscopy

At MoleMedic you will see Dr Brian Wills, who has been a GP in Mt Maunganui since 1979 and holds the Australian Diploma of Dermoscopy. He has extensive experience in the diagnosis and treatment of skin cancers and melanoma. Dr Wills has "Advanced Plus" rating with the Western Bay of Plenty PHO for skin cancer surgery. He has expertise in surgery requiring skin grafts and flaps. MoleMedic offers you a new level of diagnosis, mapping, monitoring and treatment of your moles.

Leave your consultation knowing the results of the scan
At your consultation you can choose to have a full skin check for all skin cancers. Your moles will be fully examined and any suspicious moles will be scanned, mapped and digitally recorded. Dr Wills will discuss the results of your skin check and mole scan with you before you leave so that you can make an informed choice about follow up or treatment without delay. Following your scan, a report can be made available to your own GP at your request.

MoleMedic detects abnormal moles
Your mole/s will be dermoscopically examined and those requiring further assessment will be scanned with the handheld SIAscope, which is a completely safe and painless procedure and produces images which are 1000 times more visible than can be seen by the naked eye. The images show the composition of your mole to a depth of 2mm. Both these features of SIAscopy give more certainty in making an accurate diagnosis of malignant melanoma and in advising whether an excision of the mole is necessary.

Digital images are stored for future comparison

A full digital record of your mole/s is kept by MoleMedic for future comparison should you want or need a follow-up assessment. You will be given a copy on cd to take away with you if you wish, of the SIAscopy images taken during your mole map and scan.

Rescanning, and removal of suspicious moles

Dr Wills has extensive experience in the removal of moles, gained in his many years as a GP. He is able to remove the mole at a follow-up appointment within a short time, or he can refer you to your own GP if you prefer. Because MoleMedic is a local company, it means that any treatments you receive are monitored by a doctor who lives nearby. Answers to questions are close at hand.
At MoleMedic you can have a regular review of individual moles as well as an annual full skin check
